The temp cam go down 10 degrees ,and 10 is a huge difference not to mention a very big stability. Apply only a little bit. Oftentimes motherboard manufacturers set these conservatively low, that while your card maybe within the cards safe temperature rating, either it, the CPU, or case temp, is hitting above what the BIOS A CCM membership gives you access to additional options.
If i'm using the internet or any lighter softwares it stays on even for a day. Did you update your nvidia drivers? The problem mights be that the heatsink has collected alot of dust already and it does not allow the air from the fan to pass freely unto the CPU. A few months ago i replaced two of the same unit within a month for a client. Gpu-z However a lot of reviews have given it somewhere within the range of 8/10 which is insane for a PSU that has reliability issues that arent just batch related. I can now watch videos or netflix for about an hour or two before my gpu dies again. Take 3dmark and stress your GPU tot he max.

I took the GPU out and everything worked fine, I examined the GPU and it seems one of the componments had completely burnt itself out. I don't think the airflow in the chassis is a problem since I'm using Aerocool RS-9 Red Devil (which is not the best, but I think a decent case at least). You can stress you cpu with everest and see the result.
