You jumped the gun as you have now used the updated bios you must use the second driver and not the first one. I even installed vista from the recovery cd's, I've tried it with xp and also win7. My laptop crashed to a bluescreen. I was wondering if a generic driver would work, not just the standard but maybe something with more optionsm if one even exists.
