But I've seen it with both Office XP and Office 2003 so I think it's more of an operating system issue. I KNOW when I've had to download updates, they change my settings back to their default settings (which really makes me mad). It's not a network thing because the UNC is in format: \localhost\drive_letter\folder\folder It's not a universal problem b/c DOS works fine. Thanks. We've setup a 'domain' and all workstations logon to the domain (authenticated by the Windows Domain Controller), and in the logon script we map drives on to each workstation. There are also no Add-ins running and never were.- Running Filemon.exe (from Sysinternals.com) shows that several files are not found as Excel tries to Open or Save As, but I'm not I've had very disruptive experiences with using both in unison and I'm kind of glad they do not use both here Â :) As per Folder Redirect errors, nothing on either DC It might be worth a try. Removing it in Windows Explorer will do the trick.

I did completely re-install it after our last email. In any case under Options then General I did find in Excel one that states "Ignore other Applications" and it is unchecked. The registry fix resolved the problem for only two systems, even though two others were actually running the HP printers.
