If you want to select refresh rate overrides to be used in Direct3D applications, click Override refresh rates. Ensure the monitor is connected directly to the monitor port on the rear of the computer and the video mode selected is within the capabilities of the Sony monitor.

Click Advanced, click Adapter, and then click Adapter Default from the Refresh Rate list. Getting frustrated, I want to play WoW!! That should fix the problem. If still no go I would uninstall the monitor driver and reinstall the new monitor drivers again and see if it helps and also update them with the lastest monitor drivers.
