IIRC, the interface you choose also affects the display.

We need a patch or an update to fix the problem. This is a strictly moderated site. I went went to control panel, programs and features, highlight microsoft office and click "change" on the top. More about the author The images are embedded in the email, so the "Don't download pictures .." setting shouldn't apply, and Outlook shows no placeholder where the image ought to be when viewing the message.
